I am passionate about helping organizations assess training needs, designing and developing engaging training, achieving goals while maximizing efficiency and profit through filling training gaps.
Utilizing my experience and knowledge as a teacher as a foundation, I have further built a solid skill set as an instructional designer for the corporate setting and adult learners through my coursework with AIDA (Applied Instructional Design Academy).
My process follows the ADDIE model of design (Annalyze, Design, Develop, Implementation, and Evaluate). I do not view the model as strictly linear as training development works best when you continue to revisit previous steps to tighten and clarify training design, continuing to analyze needs and modifying development as a result.
A- Every project starts with analyzing what training is needed, who the training is being created for and establishing the organizations objectives for training.
D- I work closely with SMEs (subject matter experts) and stakeholders to recommend and design a learning plan that will meet objectives and review the design document with all parties to ensure it will meet your needs.
D- Upon receiving approval for the design, my focus shifts to crafting the training content within the specified modality. This may involve creating eLearning courses utilizing authoring tools like Articulate Storyline and Articulate Rise, traditional instructor-led training (ILT), or developing microlearning solutions with tools such as Camtasia and Vyond. Any other deliverables or job aids are also created during this phase.
I- Once the training has been developed I am with you through implementation whether sending appropriate files for your LMS or working with instructors leading the training to make sure that the training is progressing as effectively as possible.
E- It is very important to evaluate training after it has occured. Did the training have the desired outcomes? What needs are still present? Are there any ideas that need to be dug into further for employees to continue to improve or other gaps that need to be addressed?
In my free time I love cycling with my husband, spending time with my family, and traveling. When I can combine all three of those things it creates a perfect day.
